V-1-4K System Program ( Ver.1.03 )


HOW TO FIND THE VERSION
Please check the current version of the system program on your V-1-4K before downloading the file.
  1. Press the [MENU] button to display the menu.
  2. Turn the [VALUE] knob to select "SYSTEM", then press the [VALUE] knob.
  3. Turn the [VALUE] knob to check "VERSION".
    *If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary.

Additional Functions
  • Version 1.0.0 of the V-1-4K RCS dedicated remote control software for Windows/macOS is now supported.
    Please refer to "V-1-4K RCS Connection Guide" for details.
  • Version 1.0.0 of the V-1-4K Remote dedicated control app for the iPad is now supported.
    Please refer to "V-1-4K Remote Connection Guide" for details.
  • Support for the "VenuSet" control app was added.
  • A fade out/fade in function has been added to allow smooth transitions when recalling memories.
    The fade time can be adjusted via the [MENU] button → "14: MEMORY" → "FADE TIME".
Functionality Improvements
  • Some menu indications and layout have been revised.
Bug Fixes
The following problems have been fixed.
  • Under certain conditions, settings might fail to save and be lost.
  • When inputting a 2160p format video signal, the image might rarely become distorted.
  • When the TYPE setting for PinP&KEY is set to "CHROMA KEY," key compositing does not operate correctly.
  • Some LAN Basic Control Commands do not operate correctly.
  • Some Memory LOAD PARAMETERS settings do not function correctly.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE UPDATE
  • V-1-4K
  • USB flash drive
    *When using a USB flash drive for the first time, you must format it using the V-1-4K.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-1-4K. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your V-1-4K while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-1-4K won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program.

DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE
  1. Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
  2. Click the "Download" button to download the system program (v14k_sys_v103.zip).
  3. Unarchive the downloaded file.
    • Windows :Right-click the file and select "Extract All", then click "Extract".
    • Mac: Double-click the file to unzip it.
      -The "v14k_sys_v103" folder appears.
  4. Connect the USB flash drive formatted with V-1-4K to your computer.
  5. Open the "v14k_sys_v103" folder, then copy "V-1-4K.PRG" to the level displayed immediately upon accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).
    *DO NOT rename the file (V-1-4K.PRG) in the folder.

UPDATE PROCEDURE
  1. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB HOST port.
  2. Hold down the DSK [PGM] button, [CUT] button, and [AUTO] button and turn on the power.
    -Keep pressing and holding the three buttons until their LEDs light up.
  3. When the display shows "SYSTEM UPDATE PRESS [ENTER]", press the [VALUE] knob.
    -The update starts.
    *The update takes about five minutes.
    *Never power-off your V-1-4K while the update is in progress.
  4. When the display shows "UPDATE COMPLETED PLEASE RESTART", press the [POWER] switch to turn off the power.
  5. Disconnect the USB flash drive from the USB HOST port.
  6. Turn on the power, and verify that the V-1-4K updated to the latest version.
    *After the update, the first time you turn on the power, it will take about fifteen minutes to boot up.
