V-1SDI System Program (Ver.1.610)


INSTALL THE LATEST VERSION OF V-1SDI RCS
Update the V-1SDI requires V-1SDI RCS. Please use the latest version of V-1SDI RCS.

HOW TO FIND THE VERSION
Please check the current version of the system program on your V-1SDI before downloading the file.
  1. Install V-1SDI RCS on your computer.
    For details on installing and launching V-1SDI RCS, please refer to "V-1SDI RCS Owner's Manual Ver.1.5 and later".
  2. Using a USB cable, connect a USB 2.0 port on the computer to the USB port on the V-1SDI.
  3. Turn on the power to the V-1SDI.
  4. Start V-1SDI RCS.
  5. On the V-1SDI RCS, click the [V-1SDI] button to switch V-1SDI RCS online.
  6. Click the Pref button on the V-1SDI RCS.
  7. When the PREFERENCE dialog box appears, check the current version information.
    *If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary.
    *You can also find the current version of the V-1SDI by pressing and holding the [SETUP] button for more than 2 seconds and then going to "VERSION" in the SYSTEM (16/16) when the monitor is connected to the MULTI-VIEW connector.

  • If an input cable is disconnected while the system is in FREEZE ON status, the video remains when the freeze is ended.

  • When PinP 1/4, PinP 1/2, SPLIT VC, or SPLIT HC video composition is on, the CONTROL 1 and 2 values in V-1SDI RCS are not updated.
  • When Audio Follow is changed using V-1SDI RCS (USB MIDI), the audio meter display on the multi-view screen is not updated.
  • Audio sometimes fails to be output from SDI PGM.

  • The display shown on the INPUT STATUS screen when video of an incompatible format is input has been changed.
Bug Fixes
The following bugs were fixed.
  • Audio/Video synchronization in SDI output sometimes exceeds standard values.
  • The KEY GAIN (blur) effect for luminance key does not function correctly.
  • Default values after executing a factory reset are incorrect.
  • When a memory containing a state in which audio fade is applied using OUTPUT FADE is loaded while MEMORY PANEL LOAD is set to ON, no audio fade is applied.
  • When the FREEZE button is used to freeze video while the FREEZE MODE is set to ALL, the video on the individual channels freezes at different times.
  • Pressing and holding the [WIPE] button during menu display to return menu items to their default values fails to return some items to their defaults.
  • Enabling SPLIT or QUAD compositing during menu display makes the indicators for the [MIX] and [CUT] buttons go dark.
  • Some RS-232 commands fail to function correctly.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE UPDATE
  • V-1SDI itself
  • A computer on which V-1SDI RCS runs
    Before you start, install and set up V-1SDI RCS on the computer.
  • USB cable
  • Video Monitor (equipped with a HDMI input connector)
  • HDMI cable

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-1SDI. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your V-1SDI while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-1SDI will not be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program.

DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE
  1. Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
  2. Click the "Download" button to download the system program (v1sdi_sys_v1610.zip).
  3. Unzip the downloaded file.
    • Windows: Right-click the file and select "Extract All", then click "Extract".
    • Mac: Double-click the file to unzip it.
      The "v1sdi_sys_v1610" folder appears.
      *DO NOT rename the unzipped file or folder.

UPDATE PROCEDURE
Caution
Never power-off your V-1SDI while the update is in progress! If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-1SDI will not be able to start up in normal operating mode.
  1. Using a USB cable, connect the V-1SDI and the computer.
  2. Hold down the V-1SDI’s [AUDIO] button and press the [POWER] button to start the V-1SDI.
    The V-1SDI starts in the Update mode (with the [AUDIO] button lighted in red).
  3. Start V-1SDI RCS, and then click the [Pref] button.
    *You can perform an update as long as the V-1SDI is connected to a computer, even when not online.
  4. When the PREFERENCE dialog box appears, click the [System Update] button.
  5. When the SYSTEM UPDATE dialog box appears, check to make sure "Update Mode" is displayed in the top field.
    * If "---" is displayed in the top field, disconnect and reinsert the USB cable.
  6. Click the [Open Bin File] button to display the Update Bin File dialog box, then specify the program file (V-1SDI_ver1610.bin).
    The version information for the update file is displayed in the middle field.
  7. Click the [Start Update] button.
    The update starts.
    *The update takes about 4 minutes on Windows and 6 minutes on macOS.
    When the update is completed, the message "Update Completed." appears.
  8. Turn the power to the V-1SDI off and back on, then check the version information.
If you updated from "Ver. 1.000", please execute a factory reset after the update.
*It is not necessary if the V-1SDI version is Ver. 1.100 or higher before the update.
*Performing a factory reset causes all settings made and values saved in memory to be lost.
  1. Connect a monitor to the MULTI-VIEW connector.
  2. Press and hold the [SETUP] button (for 2 seconds or longer) to display the SETUP menu.
  3. Select "FACTORY RESET" (16/16).
  4. Move the A/B fader to the bus A position.
  5. Make sure the message "PRESS "UP"" is displayed, and press the [DSK] button.
    A factory reset is executed.
  6. Press the [SETUP] or [AUDIO] button to quit the menu.
