S-0808 System Program (Ver.1.003)
- Please refer to the attached document "Process to update the Digital Snake unit" (S-0808_v1003_e01.pdf) for more information such as the update procedure.
Checking the version number
Before you start, check the system program version of your S-0808.
- Turn on power of S-0808.
- Boot up S-4000 RCS.
- Select serial port where S-0808 is connected on serial port selection window of S-4000 RCS.
- Click [Info] button on S-4000 RCS. The Device Info dialog like below will be displayed.
* If you find the version number is the latest one, update process is not necessary.

The following bug is fixed.
- When holding the "MUTE ALL OUTPUTS" button and unplugging a REAC cable, noise might occur on the OUTPUT signal.
What you will need to update your S-0808
The following products/devices are necessary to carry out the update process.
- S-0808 unit
- REAC Embedded Power source unit (S-4000D/S-4000M) or an external battery.
- S-4000 RCS software (Ver. 2.0 or later)
- Windows PC equipped with serial (RS-232C) port and can run S-4000 RCS software properly.
- Serial cable (The remote cable contained as part of S-4000R accessory or ordinary sold RS-232C cable : D-Sub 9pins, male-female, straight type)
Caution when performing the update
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the S-0808. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
- Never power-off your S-0808 while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the S-0808 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.

Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded “s0808_sys_v1003.zip” file on your computer to get the update files in the “s0808_sys_v1003” folder.
