VR-400UHD System Program ( Ver.1.10 )


HOW TO KNOW THE VERSION
Before you start, check the system program version of your VR-400UHD.
  1. Press the [ SETUP ] button.
  2. Touch the Setup menu -> System tab -> " Version "
    Check the System version that appears on the display.
    Executing this update installs the following version. If the version you're using is older, then carry out the update.
    Version : 1.10
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your VR-400UHD.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO UPDATE
  • VR-400UHD
  • USB Memory
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a VR-400UHD.

CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the VR-400UHD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your VR-400UHD while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the VR-400UHD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
  • When updating from Ver.1.00/Ver.1.01, A Factory Reset will execute at the first startup after the update automatically.
  • Before updating to Ver.1.10, first update to Ver.1.05. The updater for Ver.1.05 is included in the downloaded file.
  • Once you update to Ver.1.10, you cannot go back to a version lower than Ver.1.10.

GETTING THE UPDATE FILE
Download the file named "vr400uhd_sys_v110.zip".
The downloaded file is an archive file in ZIP format. Double-click it to expand it.
When the extraction is finished, a vr400uhd_sys_v110 folder containing the data necessary for installation will appear, and within it two folders will appear upd1_v105b000 and upd2_v110b000. Each folder contains the file VR400UHD.PRG.

PROCEDURE FOR THE UPDATE
Creation and update of USB memory for Ver1.05 update. (First time)
Copy the system update file VR400UHD.PRG in the upd1_v105b000 folder to the root directory of the USB memory. After that, please execute the following [ System Update ]. Depending on the version, the update may take about 5 minutes.
Creation and update of USB memory for Ver1.10 update. (Second time)
Copy the system update file VR400UHD.PRG in the upd2_v110b000 folder to the root directory of the USB memory. If you have any files from the previous updater, please delete them. After that, please execute the following [ System Update ]. The update will take about 5 minutes.

[ System Update ]
  1. Turn VR-400UHD power OFF.
  2. Hold down the [ LOGO ] button and the SCENE/BANK [ 1 ] button turn on the power.
    * Continue to press and hold the button until the message " Update Mode - Insert USB memory to USB HOST1. " appears on the display.
  3. Connect USB memory to VR-400UHD's USB HOST 1 port.
  4. The message " Press VALUE(ENTER) to update. " appears on the display.
  5. Press [ VALUE ] button to start the update process.
  6. The message " Insert USB memory to USB HOST2. " appears on the display then detach the USB Memory from the VR-400UHD's USB HOST 1 port and connect it to USB HOST 2 port.
  7. The message " Press VALUE(ENTER) to update. " appears on the display.
  8. Press [ VALUE ] button to start the next update process.
  9. When the message " Completed. Please restart. " appears on the display, the update has finished.
  10. Detach the USB Memory from the VR-400UHD.
  11. Restart the VR-400UHD.
