V-80HD System Program ( Ver.1.11 )

HOW TO FIND THE VERSION
Please check the current version of the system program on your V-80HD before downloading the file.
  1. Press the [MENU] button to display the menu.
  2. Turn the [VALUE] knob to select "System", then press the [VALUE] knob.
  3. Turn the [VALUE] knob to select "System Information".
    The version information is displayed.
    *If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary.
UPDATE HISTORY
[Ver.1.11] JUL 2025
Bug Fixes
The following problems have been fixed.
  • Video output sometimes stops when connecting or disconnecting a cable at an SDI input connector.
  • In rare cases, the video inputs to HDMI becomes corrupted at startup.
  • Video and audio gradually become unsynchronized during lengthy streaming or recording.
  • When camera control is performed while connected to VenuSet, VenuSet is not updated with the status of the unit.

Additional Functions
  • LAN/RS-232 Basic Control Commands are now supported.
    Please refer to "LAN/RS-232 Basic Control Commands" for details.
  • Support for the "VenuSet" control app was added.
  • Functionality has been added to enable synchronization with Yamaha DM3 series digital mixers.
    It is now possible to recall scene memories from the DM3 series via the V-80HD, and to synchronize V-80HD audio channels with DM3 series faders/mute buttons.
    Please refer to "V-80HD Reference Manual" for details.
  • A function has been added to set Still Output to "Off" by pressing the [EXIT] button when the menu is closed.
Functionality Improvements
  • Compatibility with the server used by the Stream & Record and SRT Out settings web app has been updated.
    An update to version 1.10 or higher will be required to continue using the web app after August 2025.
  • Responsiveness has been improved for the tally lamp illumination function in camera control.
Bug Fixes
The following problems have been fixed.
  • In rare cases, video fails to be output in SDI output.
  • Fields sometimes invert when SDI output format is set to 1080i.
  • Captured still images are not saved when shutting down from the menu.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

Additional Functions
  • Functionality has been added that enables the Windows-only program Graphics Presenter to be operated using the footswitches connected to the CTL/EXP jacks, GPI, and a USB numeric keypad.
    Connecting the V-80HD via a USB cable to a computer running Graphics Presenter lets you control Graphics Presenter from the V-80HD.
Functionality Improvements
  • Auto Mixing View has been updated to display attenuation levels overlaid on the level meter when Auto Mixing is set to "ON."
  • The system has been changed to allow access from the Load From Storage screen at Still Image to still images saved from the V-80HD.
    When switching "Root/Saved" to "Saved" at the top of the file browser, you can access the "Roland/V-80HD/still" folder used for V-80HD exports.
  • Audio processing for streaming and recording functions has been optimized, and stability has been improved.
  • Some menu indications were changed.
  • Menu organization and layout has been revised.
Bug Fixes
The following problems have been fixed.
  • The V-80HD freezes when restoring a large-size backup file.
  • Video Player/SRT In malfunctions after restoring a backup file during Video Player/SRT In operation.
  • Slight vertical offset occurs in still images captured using Capture Image from video input via SDI.
  • Noise sometimes occurs in audio output from video output connectors.
  • Noise in SDI video input or still images occurs when connecting or disconnecting cables at the SDI input connectors.
  • When AUX Linked PGM is enabled, the Main Bus is output even when "AUX 1 Bus" or "AUX 2 Bus" is assigned to Audio Output Assign.
  • Video flickers momentarily during playback or when stopping Video Player.
  • No error message displayed for failed video imports in Video Player.
  • Brief video corruption sometimes occurs immediately after switching interlaced video inputs.
  • Audio Player names are not being saved.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

  • When the video input to the SDI IN jack is inserted and removed, the video from the SDI OUT jack is lost.

Additional Functions
  • Version 1.0.0 of the V-80HD RCS dedicated remote control software for Windows/macOS is now supported.
    Please refer to "V-80HD RCS Connection Guide" for details.
  • Version 1.0.0 of the V-80HD Remote dedicated control app for the iPad is now supported.
    Please refer to "V-80HD Remote Connection Guide" for details.
  • The internal processing for PinP & Key and DSK chroma key compositing has been improved, and background color can now be passed more accurately.
    The "Value Fine" and "Value Width" parameters for fine-grained adjustment have been added.
  • A function has been added to remove background color near the border in PinP & Key and DSK chroma key compositing.
    Setting Despill to "ON" enables you to remove bleeding background color near the border with the transparent portion.
  • Copy, Swap, and Initialize functions have been added to Assignable Pads.
  • SRT In has been added to the Tally Channel menu item for Camera Control.

  • For settings such as Wipe Border Color, color samples are now displayed on the menu.
  • Some translations have been improved.

Bug Fixes
The following problems have been fixed.
  • In rare cases, SDI OUT fails to be output.
  • With Stream&Record, operating only Audio Rec results in failure to end correctly.
  • When Stereo Link for Audio In 1 or 2 is enabled, The R-channel Compressor fails to function correctly.
  • When the unit is restarted with Stereo Link for Audio In 1 or 2 in an enabled state, R-channel audio settings are not updated correctly.
  • When Split is used while the Panel Operation setting is "A/B," the video assigned to the A and B buses is sometimes switched.
  • When the Panel Operation setting is "A/B" or "PGM/PST (16)," the Effects Transition Sync setting cannot be changed.
  • When a setting is changed from "Use Web Application" at the SRT In or SRT Out screen, the setting sometimes fails to be applied.
  • Setting Language to a value other than "English" results in some menu item names being displayed differently from their actual names.
  • Fade In Time and Fade Out Time for Audio Player fail to function correctly.
  • When Number of MACRO Button is set to "24," pressing a PGM or PST button sometimes results in incorrect functioning.
  • When Number of MEMORY Button or Number of MACRO Button is set to "24," panel lock fails to function correctly.
  • Other minor bug fixes.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE UPDATE
  • V-80HD
  • USB flash drive
    *When using a USB flash drive for the first time, you must format it using the V-80HD.
CAUTION WHEN PERFORMING THE UPDATE
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the V-80HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your V-80HD while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the V-80HD won't be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program.
DOWNLOADING AND UNARCHIVING THE COMPRESSED FILE
  1. Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the "I agree" check box.
  2. Click the "Download" button to download the system program (v80hd_sys_v111.zip).
  3. Unarchive the downloaded file.
    • Windows :Right-click the file and select "Extract All", then click "Extract".
    • macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it.
      -The "v80hd_sys_v111" folder appears.
  4. Connect the USB flash drive formatted with V-80HD to your computer.
  5. Open the "v80hd_sys_v111" folder, then copy "V-80HD.PRG" to the level displayed immediately upon accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive's root directory).
    *DO NOT rename the file (V-80HD.PRG) in the folder.
UPDATE PROCEDURE
  1. Connect the USB flash drive to the USB HOST port.
  2. Hold down the [DSK PGM] button, [PinP & KEY 1 PGM] button, and [PinP & KEY 2 PGM] button and turn on the power.
    -Keep pressing and holding the three buttons until their LEDs light up.
  3. When the display shows "SYSTEM UPDATE PRESS [ENTER]", press the [VALUE] knob.
    -The update starts.
    * The update takes about two minutes.
    * Never power-off your V-80HD while the update is in progress.
  4. When the display shows "UPDATE COMPLETED PLEASE RESTART", press the [POWER] button to turn off the power.
  5. Disconnect the USB flash drive from the USB HOST port.
  6. Turn on the power, and verify that the V-80HD updated to the latest version.
    * At the time of the first startup after updating, update processing is performed. The LEDs might go dark or the fan might turn at high speed, but these are not malfunctions. Please wait until the unit starts.
