SR-20HD System Program ( Ver.2.11 )
If you’re currently using a version earlier than 1.20
After updating the unit to the most recent version, the Safety Image returns to factory defaults.
If you have changed the Safety Image, please import it again.
How to tell the version
Please check the current version of the system working on your SR-20HD before downloading the archive file.
- Turn on the SR-20HD.
- Press the [MENU] button.
- Turn the [VALUE/CURSOR] knob to select “System” and press the [VALUE/CURSOR] knob like a button.
- Turn the [VALUE/CURSOR] knob to scroll the screen.
Version is displayed on the screen.
* If the latest version is shown, no update is necessary.

Functionality Improvements
- Compatibility with the server used by the Stream & Record, SRT Out, and SRT In settings web app has been updated.
An update to version 2.11 or higher will be required to continue using the web app after August 2025.

Additional Functions
- A function for switching the access method for the SD card has been added.
If the SR-20HD fails to recognize an SD card, use the [MENU] button → SD Card/USB Memory → SD Card Access Type to change the value. This might enable detection of the SD card.
* The setting takes effect at startup. Restart the SR-20HD.

- Audio processing for streaming and recording functions has been optimized, and stability has been improved.

Additional Functions
- Video input and output via the SRT protocol is now supported.
Switching the [MENU] button → STILL 1/SRT In → SRT In to "Enable", video received using the SRT protocol can be input to the SR-20HD.
Switching the [MENU] button → Stream → SRT Out to "Enable", video can be sent from the SR-20HD using the SRT protocol.
Bug Fixes
The following problems have been fixed.
- The image quality of streamed or recorded video sometimes changes momentarily at several-second intervals.
- Depending on the video file, video playback via Video Player is sometimes not smooth.

- The default value for Auto Off has been changed to 20 minutes.

Functionality Improvements
- Operation has been changed to enable setting the encoder behavior during streaming or recording.
When working with video containing much movement, such as sports or games, setting the Encode Mode to “Motion” enables streaming or recording of smoother video.
- A function has been added that enables audio input to be made monaural to LINE IN and HDMI IN.
“L Only,” “R Only,” and “LR Mix” can be selected as the method of conversion to monaural
- For more detailed settings, the video bitrate unit has been changed from 1,000 kbps to 100 kbps.
- Stability during streaming and recording has been improved.

- The video signal of STILL 1 sometimes contains noise when switching the TYPE of STILL 1 or switching still images and video files.

- USB VIDEO IN function added.
- In MENU → SYSTEM → USB VIDEO IN mode, you can select USB video (Video Only) or USB audio (Audio Only).
- The USB STREAM output of the following Roland products can be used with the SR-20HD:
VR-4HD, UVC-01
- Video Player function added.

- The max length of characters for the Live Streaming URL and Stream Key increased.
- URL: Increased from 128 to 512 characters

- Video Player settings added to “STAND BY setting” and “ON AIR setting” under MENU → Stream.
- The VIDEO FUNCTION button now blinks while the streaming delay time elapses when you cancel the “switch to still image” and “mute audio” functions of the Safety Delay function.

The following problems have been fixed.
- The Key Gain parameter of Luminance key does not work properly.
What you will need to update your unit
- SR-20HD
- AC adaptor (included with SR-20HD)
- Computer (Windows or Mac) equipped with a USB port compliant with USB 2.0 or USB 3.0.
- USB flash drive (sold separately)
* Format to in FAT32 or FAT16 file system using a PC (On Mac, format to “MS-DOS (FAT)”).
Caution when performing the update
- This program is exclusively for the SR-20HD. Never attempt to use it with any other product.
- We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
Downloading and unarchiving the compressed file
- Read the software license agreement at the bottom of the screen and select the “I agree” check box.
- Click the “Download File” button to download the system program (sr20hd_sys_v211.zip).
- Unarchive the downloaded file.
- Windows: Right-click the file and select “Extract All,” then click “Extract”.
- Mac: Double-click the file to unzip it.
“SR20HD_UPDATE.BIN” inside the expanded folder is the system program.
- Copy the system program to the level displayed immediately upon accessing the USB flash drive (the USB flash drive’s root directory).
Procedure for the update
[Caution]
- You must not rename the extracted file.
- Never turn off the unit power while the update is in progress. Doing so may cause malfunction. If such malfunction occurs, charged repairs may be necessary. You will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
Please update your unit according to the following procedure.
- Turn off the SR-20HD.
- Connect the USB flash drive containing the “SR20HD_UPDATE.BIN” file to the USB CONTROL port.
- While holding down the AUDIO FUNCTION [4] and [5] buttons, turn on the power.
* Hold down the AUDIO FUNCTION [4] and [5] buttons until “UPDATE” appears on the display.
The current version and the system program version copied to the USB flash drive appear on display, and the [MENU] button blinks.
- Press the [MENU] button.
The update starts, and the INPUT [HDMI IN 1] to [STILL 2] buttons light up sequentially.
- When “Update completed.” appears on display, press the [POWER] button to turn off the power.
- Disconnect the USB flash drive from the USB CONTROL port.
- Turn on the power, and verify that updated to the latest version.
