VR-50HD System Program (Ver.1.16)


How to know the version
Before you start, check the system program version of your VR-50HD.
  1. Press the [ MENU ] button.
    The "MENU" screen will appear.
  2. Touch < Setup > on the monitor.
    The "System" screen will appear.
  3. Touch the right arrow displayed at the bottom right of the monitor twice.
    The current version is indicated in the "Version" field.
* If this shows the latest version, there's no need to update your VR-50HD.

  • The problem of noise output occurring during AUDIO MUTE was corrected.
  • The problem of a setting of "Phantom Power: ON" not being applied at startup was corrected.

  • A problem of no display from HDMI output on some personal computers was corrected.
[ Additional Functions ]
  • "Mat Transparency" was added to the Setup menu. This allows adjustment of the amount of background transparency for the menu screen.
  • "Video Input Select" was added to the Setup menu. This allows enabling and disabling the ability to switch video using the touch panel.

< Compatibility of System Settings >
System settings saved on versions of the VR-50HD earlier than 1.10 can be imported into version 1.10, but system settings saved on version 1.10 cannot be imported into versions earlier than 1.10.

  • The USB output of VR-50HD was not recognized by a personal computer.
  • The USB output resolution of VR-50HD was not displayed correctly in a personal computer.
 
What you will need to update
  • VR-50HD
  • USB Memory ( Roland's M-UF2G is recommended )
    * The USB Memory need to be formatted on a VR-50HD.
 
Caution when performing the update
  • Never apply this update data to any product other than the VR-50HD. This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.
  • Never power-off your VR-50HD while the update is in progress!
    If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the VR-50HD won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
  • We regret that we are unable to answer questions regarding the update procedure using this system program. Please perform the update responsibly, following the directions given in this document.
 
Getting the update file
Please open/extract the downloaded "vr50hd_sys_v116.zip" file on your computer to get the update file named "VR-50HD.PRG" in the "vr50hd_sys_v116" folder.
 
Procedure for the update
Creating the Update USB Memory
  1. Copy update files VR-50HD.PRG to the root directory of a USB Memory.

Update Procedure
  1. Turn VR-50HD power OFF.
  2. Connect USB memory to VR-50HD's USB MEMORY port. Turn the power on with pressing [ MONITOR - MULTIVIEW ] + [ MONITOR - STILL ] + [ TRANSITION - MIX ] buttons.
    * Press these buttons until the flashing of the indicator is finished.
  3. When "Are You Sure?" is displayed on the monitor, press the [ ENTER ] button. Version update is performed automatically.
  4. When "Please Restart VR-50HD" is displayed on the monitor, the update is completed.
    Turn VR-50HD power OFF.
