VR-50HD, the heart of University of Canberra’s new media room

The University of Canberra have just created a new media room used for broadcast and capture of multimedia content. The room was outfitted out by MRB Communications and is designed with custom lighting that enables professors and lecturers of various faculties to make full use of the Roland VR-50HD’s high quality green screen composition. Lectures are presented to a HD camera positioned on top of a flat panel screen that allows the presenter to have real-time interaction with their custom background media.

A Crestron touch panel has several presets which interact with not only the Roland VR-50HD but also a Shure wireless mic system and the Echo 360 streaming and capture software preferred by universities and schools all over the country. The USB 3.0 output built into the VR-50HD makes interaction with the Echo 360 system incredibly straightforward.

Using the touch panel, presenters also have a simple option to capture and stream live with real-time green screen composition, or capture only to send for post-production where further content or compositing can be done.
