Bellingham, WA. January 24th – Roland Systems Group is pleased to announce that the S-0808 Digital Snake has been nominated for a prestigious Cinema Audio Society Technical Achievement Award in the category of Production.

The S-0808 Digital Snake is an 8in/8out compact, lightweight digital snake that supports multiple power options including battery-power and power over Ethernet (PoE). The inputs offer remote controllable preamps, phantom-power, 24-bit 96kHz A/D conversion as well as choices of XLR, TRS line and even Hi-Z capability to reduce the need for direct boxes.

The included side-mounting adapter plate enables V-Mount or Gold Mount adaptable battery systems to be conveniently attached to the side to power the S-0808. This versatility in power and input choices make the S-0808 ideal for location sound applications in which the S-0808 digital snake has been employed by many location sound engineers for television sound production, especially in remote applications.

Pair two together for a complete point-to-point 8x8 snake system or use as a stage input box with any Roland V-Mixer Digital Console - all made possible using REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) protocol over a single Cat5e cable.

The Cinema Audio Society© consists of Sound Mixers and Associates from the Film and Television Industries. The Society was founded to create a channel of communication between the related sound crafts and between those instrumental to the production and distribution of film and television soundtracks.

The Cinema Audio Society is hosting its 47th annual awards on February 19th, 2011 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel. The Roland S-0808 Digital was one of five finalists in the Production category announced January 6th. Final voting closes February 11th, 2011 at 5:00 pm.
